Willow and Grace FoundationOpen up a child's world one book at a time
As an educator, mother, and reading advocate, child literacy is near to my heart. From the literacy of our two little loves to the students I teach, I advocate for the power and freedom within reading like many educators.
At Willow and Grace, we know the fantastic work that educators around the country are doing and understand that teaching is in many ways a demanding job that never ends at the end of the "work" day." Teaching is a career of passion, and the people in the education system that I surround myself with are some of the most gifted, intelligent, and giving people I have ever met. I have watched teachers reach into their own pockets to clothe, feed and educate their students.
Educators, we see you. We appreciate you. We want to help you.
For every set of shelves sold, a percentage of our profit will go to an educator to buy books to help you provide high-interest reading for your students.
Did you know?
- In middle-income neighborhoods, the ratio of books per child is 13 to 1. The ratio is one age-appropriate book for every 300 children in low-income communities.
- Or that 1 in 4 children in America grows up without learning how to read.
- Or that Children read to at least three times a week are almost twice as likely to score in the top 25% in reading.
- And finally, that the number of books in the home correlates significantly with higher reading scores for children.
Thank you to our customers who help make this possible with their purchase and all the educators there- you bring light into your students' lives, and your love and education will forever impact them.
